Women Facing Problems at Work Place

Women have to face a lot of unavoidable and irresistible constraints at workplace. Some of their choices have not come without disappointment. She is a Woman! Distinctions are always made between male candidates and female candidates at workplace. The first thing one notices about a woman employee is that ’she is a woman’. They do not even think about her position and qualification. In general, people do not respect the abilities and talents in women. It takes a long time for them to succeed and get promoted. Nobody makes a single effort to understand who she really is as a person.

Jennifer Hudson Mandela rejected for being a woman

I read with interest and listened to the radio debates about how Jennifer Hudson cannot play Winnie Madikizela Mandela. Its really amazing that Nelson Mandela was played twice by international, Steve Biko was also played by an international, and many others. No one complained. Why? Those were men. Now that Jennifer Hudson is a young black woman, we feel we can control her and just throw her out of her well deserved role. Ha. Shame on South Africa. As South African women, we should not be joining this wagon that aims to stop the tracks of telling the story of Winnie Madikizela Mandela.

WHAT DO WE SAY OF THERSE WOMEN?

Feminists and women Activists all over the world are working immensely to liberate women and girls from all forms of violence and to achieve women and girls’ rights. Whenever a woman or girl is being violated, what comes to the minds of many Feminists and Activists is that the violation is done by men. Despite the efforts of NGOs working on women’s rights in Nigeria, violence against women is still on the increases in which some of our fellow women contribute to it.

Poverty not an Excuse to Abuse

Every morning I go past this specific high profile suburb. At this specific traffic lights, are a blind middle aged man with his teenage daughter, I assume, holding his hands, and they are begging for money. I never give a cent to those who beg, but every morning I'm tempted to roll the window down and just ask this young woman "Why the hell aren't you at school?". Each time want to open that window, a little voice responds to me,"She has no choice".

What can one person do?

What can one person do? By Fungai Machirori What can an individual achieve in a life time? The possibilities are almost infinite. But what is possible for one person to achieve in a life time, especially in response to HIV? Often, we hide behind the collective “we” when we discuss issues around HIV and AIDS, speaking as groups and even communities about what “we” will do, and how “we” will respond.

POLITICIANS AND SOCIETY AGAINST VIOLENCE of WOMEN AND GIRLS

I WAS ONE OF THE FEW TEENAGERS WHO WENT TO IKHAYALETHEMBA,TO WITNESS THE GATHERING OF DIFFERENT POLITICAL PARTIES.IT WAS REALLY AMAZING TO BE AT THE SAME ROOM AS SUCH ICONS,THERE WERE ACTUALLY ALL THE CAMPAINING PARTIES THAT WANT TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF THE SOUTH AFRICANS FOR THE BETTER. TO BE QUITE FRANK SOME OF THEM WERE NOT REALLY READY FOR THE PUBLIC ANOUNCEMENTS, LIKE THE REPRESANTATIVE FOR COPE, THAT WOMAN! SHE HAS A NERVE OF SAY THAT SHE DIS NOT HAVE A RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOUT WHAT HER PARTY WILL COMMIT TO REGARDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.

Solutions by Politians. What about me?

Truely speaking, I enjoyed myself seing all the political members of the party where they shared their own points of views. (ACDP) ,I liked the part that she menssioned about prostitutes being removed from the streets, and providing jobs for them in order to keep them safe. The part that children who are being abused at home: the solution was that social workers could place them in houses of safety ,that's what i wanted to know because i'm also a victim of abuse at home. be your self!

we are not used to speaking for our selves! but now we can speak out as women and girls in south africa! each and every woman has the right to, but i can`t see how it's important to vote because we vote for people who can`t make sure that we get what we have voted for?! they used to tell us that 'your vote is your voice' but they don`t allow our voice to be heard! This is why I say it is not necessary to vote! my ending is that if you vote you might get a good service.

NOT ENOUGH IS BEEN DONE

I enyoyed the debate with those different political members Well they all addressed the same thing in different perspective of course it was a debate. I feel that some points which are important were not discussed. They only talked about how they could change things if we vote for them. Why don't they start now with those changes. Every six second a woman is killed here in South Africa. What is being done to stop that, how many woman must die before they do something. What is being done for children who finished school and did not get A's.

violence

WE WENT TO THE DEBATE HERE IN JOZI,IT WAS GOOD BECAUSE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT VIOLENCE ,FOR AN EXAMPLE TRANSPORT PROBLEMS,GIRLS WHO WERE RAPED ,AND PROSTIUTES TO FIND THEM JOBS. FOR ME THERE A LOT OF SICKNESS OUT THERE, SO IT IS BETTER WHEN THEY GET GOOD JOBS FOR THEMSELF. SOMTIMES THEY ARE ABUSED BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE UNEMPLOYABLE AS THEY ARE SELLING THEIR BODIES. SOMETIMES CHILDREN TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY, SO IT IS BETTER WHEN THERE IS TRANSPORT EVEN BICYCILES .
