Useful Gender & Feminist Email Lists

Listservs (or email lists) can be very useful tools for both disseminating and receiving information that is current. They work by creating one address for disseminating information to many people, and can be thematically based, short or long term, closed or open.

We collect together here information on some useful lists that focus on women or gender. Some are open to anyone and others require a process of application first, so click on links for more information and send your detials to be kept informed!

This list acknowledges by its name that we have a feminized HIV/AIDS epidemic. Within southern Africa of those infected it is believed that some 60% are women. The list is about creating a safe and respectful space to dialogue on HIV/AIDS within a gender, women's rights and sexual and reproductive health and rights lens through the continuum of prevention, treatment and care.

GWS Africa (Gender and Women Studies South Africa)

This list is for gender teachers, researchers and activists. It is a space to discuss and debate and share news and information relating to gender & women's studies in Africa. This is meant to be a safe, confidential dynamic space through which users can strengthen networking.
