Volunteer Biography:
Caroline recently joined Women’sNet as a volunteer after working in the community-based organisation sector and the International solidarity sector in Canada. Holding a bachelor degree in Graphic Design, she first discovered the power of technology and citizen journalism for social change while doing an internship with Khanya College in 2003. Since then, she has worked on different projects related to computer literacy, ICT policy, and young adults international solidarity and employment programs. Caroline is particularly interested in issues regarding the use of new social media platforms and mobile technologies for women’s empowerment and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Media Studies at Wits.
