Press Release: Gay Network Launches Pink Mynah Festival

The Gay and Lesbian Network is hosting the first ever Gay and Lesbian festival in KwaZulu-Natal, The Pink Mynah Festival.

The festival starts on the 29th of November and runs through until the 6th of December 2008.

The event encompasses World Aids Day and as such many workshops will be held surrounding that topic, but its not just all serious business, the festival kicks off with a carnival style street parade through the capital, and includes such events as nightly film screenings, workshops on various topics, exhibition, the finale of the festival is the Mr. and Miss Gay KZN pageant, which will close the festival.

There are wonderful prizes to be won and the winners of the pageant will automatically be entered in to the Mr. and Miss Gay South Africa International pageant as representatives of our great province in 2009. The pageant is open to gays and lesbians from KwaZulu Natal.

This festival and all of the activities are open to everyone and anyone, the idea is to create tolerance and understanding between all communities and create a united province, irrespective of race, gender and sexual orientation.
