Minister Defends Women's Contribution To Family Stabilisation

The government official exhorted women of the civil society during a meeting held in the noble hall of the Uige Province government, in the ambit of a three-day visit programme of assistance and control, carried out since last Tuesday.
The minister said that her visit to Uige Province aims mainly at assessing with the communities and officials of the local government, the real living conditions and main concerns faced by the families of the region.
The official said that this exercise will enable the board of the Ministry of Family and Women Promotion to have a real diagnosis of the problems, in order to outline action strategies of the governmental goals regarding the issues related to family, women promotion and gender.
On the other hand, the politician reminded that the information in the community message partly reflects the big concerns in the action line of the Ministry of Family, thus she asked for the collaboration and engagement of all women and NGOs in order to participate in the materialisation of the challenges outlined by the Angolan government.
During her speech, Genoveva Lino underlined the necessity of all workers to change their mentalities, as well as fight against domestic and intra family violence, sexual abuse, children witchcraft accusations, among other criminal practices.
With the same purpose, the board of the Ministry of Family and Women Promotion were gathered last Wednesday afternoon with a group of female managers, community leaders and officials.
The minister was accompanied in this visit by national directors, heads of senior technicians departments of the Ministry of Family and Women Promotion.
