Ucodep: Project Coordinator
Programme Title: Support to Decentralization and Local Development Policies in South Africa- A network of Tuscan and South African Local Governemnts (NETSAFRICA)

Reporting to: Project Coordinator
Duty station: East London
Starting date: immediate
Monthly salary: Depending on relevant experience and qualifications
Working days: Monday to Friday, full-time
Contract duration: 6 months with option of renewal subject to performance and continued funding.
Probation period: two months
Under the immediate/direct supervision or the Project Coordinator, the Project Assistant ensures and provides technical, logistics and administrative support to the Programme Secretariat.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To work closely with the Project coordinator
- To serve as a member of the Project Team and assist in the project management activities
- Assist the Project Coordinator in managing ruotine communications including collection of needed information and data on institutions involved
- Coordinate the on-going logistics related to different activities and help in preparation of all project related meetings and events
- Mantain and update project's working files and other project materials for dissemination to different target audience
- Help in updating Programme website
- Assist in assembling briefing materials, documentation and correspondence for the use in official meetings or missions
- Take notes in meetings as required
- Organize the collection of selected reference materials of the project
- Document the project activities and reports
- Assist in the projects progress report formulation
- Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
The ideal candidate shall:

- Be capable of writing drafts of memos and other written communication
- Have excellent time management and attention to detail
- Be able to manage relationships (working in teams, communicating information and ideas, conflict and self management)
- Be capable of managing multiple responsibilities and demands
- Have strong computer skills
- Have a car, this position may require some travel
Qualification and Experience Needed:
Academic Requirements: University qualification preferably in public administration, development studies and social science, or other related field.
Working experience:
- Substantial knowledge and about 2 years experience of project management related activitis in public or private sector (experience in the non-profit sectori is an asset)
- Relevant experience in administration and logistic tasks
- Good knowledge and understanding of result-based management (RBM) and Logical Framework (LF) approach
- Knowledge and experience of South Africa Local Government will be an asset
Computer skills: Proficiency in current office software applications and ability to operate e-mail/Internet systems, excellent knowledge of modem office equipment.
Language: Excellent command in written and spoken English; knowledge of Italian and Xhosa is an asset
