Treatment Action Campaign: Grant Proposal Writer / Fundraiser

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research into the nature of donor funding in South Africa and abroad;
• Constantly Source and research local (local authorities, government agencies, multilateral and bilateral agencies) and international (and foreign agencies) forms of fundraising in line with the TAC objectives;
• Based on the knowledge gained through various forms of research, raise at least 50% of the annual budget;
• Build and maintain solid relationships with current donors/funders;
• Together with the Resource Mobilisation team do Financial planning monitoring and budgeting exercises?
• Fully understand the projects of the TAC and participate in strategic planning sessions, visits districts to observe implementation of strategic objectives;
• Based on the above, able to write a realistic funding concept, can interpret funding requirements;
• Monitor and Support Project/programme management, ensuring alignment of grant agreements to programme implementation, and what is required for reporting and in turn, ensuring districts take ownership;
• Reporting, scheduling, constantly raising awareness, and ensuring tight compliance with all donor proposals;
• Update and maintain a donor database.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification majoring either: creative writing, marketing, journalism and social sciences;
• Minimum of four years of proven fundraising or donor grant proposal writing;
• Speaking and written communications skills;
• Finance and project management skills;
• Vast knowledge of HIV/AIDS and TB, NSP, NHI and other relevant health legislation;
• Proficient research and writing ability;
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and networking skills;
• Valid driver’s licence.
