South African National Council for the Blind: ABET & ECD Coordinator
The South African National Council for the Blind (SANCB) seeks to appoint a ABET & ECD Coordinator to provide and ensure adequate support to ABET & ECD centers and all blind and partially sighted learners at these institutions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Educational Support to ABET & ECD Centers, and blind and partially sighted learners and their families
- Assist the Education Programme Manager with ABET & ECD matters
- Assist in building networks, partnerships, and reference groups within South Africa
- Promote the image of Council
- Advocacy in terms of ABET & ECD
- Develop position papers in response to ABET & ECD issues and challenges, in support of broader learning needs
Requirements:
- Grade 12, Degree in Education / ECD /Adult Basic Education & Training
- Understanding of education options and policies
- Ability to liaise with government departments and other organisations, including ABET & ECD centers, Developing ABET & ECD policies and programmes
- Experience in special education (blind and partially sighted)
- Braille literate or have an interest to learn Braille
- Experience in interacting with visually impaired people
Salary: R10 677.97 to R17 792.77 per month (cost to company). Salary is negotiable based on relevant experience and qualifications.
