Job Description: 

SOS Children's Villages is a social development organisation, focusing on the care, protection and development of children and youth who are orphaned or vulnerable.

SOS Children's Villages seeks to appoint Boys Youth Leader, to be based in Ennerdale.

Responsibilities:

  • Living in with SOS youth in the youth facility;
  • Analysis of development needs;
  • Education, emotional and developmental support;
  • Liaison with educational and other institutions;
  • Assistance to the SOS youth to plan for independent futures;
  • Assistance to the SOS youth to manage finances;
  • Training and assistance on household management and life skills;
  • Creating an environment conducive to study in the youth house;
  • Being an excellent role model in all areas of life.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification, part qualification, in childcare, plus experience within the childcare sector;
  • Valid driver's licence is essential;
  • Organised, able to live in with the youth and willing to coordinate a wide range of issues;
  • Ability to guide the SOS youth and have personal qualities suitable for a role model to youth.

Salary: Approximately R70 000 cost to company per annum.
