The QuadPara Association of South Africa (QASA) is a non-profit organisation which represents quadriplegics and paraplegics in South Africa. QASA’s mission is to be an effective coordinating, policy-making and supporting organisation striving to prevent spinal cord injury and to promote and protect the interests of people with mobility impairments through advocacy, lobbying and delivery of services and products to people with disabilities.
QASA seeks to appoint a Deputy Director who will be fully accountable for fulfilling the vision and mission of QASA within the defined areas and provide a supporting role to the National Director. This high profile position would suit a results-driven professional with strong communication, leadership skills and strong stakeholder management ability.
Requirements:
- Energetic, entrepreneurial abilities, outgoing personality, prepared to work long hours and travel extensively;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills and ability to work with, manage and motivate staff;
- Computer literate and have a passion for disability;
- Management, PR/marketing, fundraising and project management experience;
- Understanding of disability issues and legislation pertaining to disability will be an advantage, as well as the ability to interpret balance sheets / financial statements and to make financial decisions.
