National Programmes Assistant

The South African Red Cross Society seeks to appoint an individual with excellent report writing skills to be their National Programmes Assistant.
Job Description: 

The South African Red Cross Society (SARCS) is part of the largest independent humanitarian organisation in the world - the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement - who every year helps millions of people whose lives have been devastated by crisis.

SARCS seeks to appoint a National Programmes Assistant, based in Pretoria and reporting to the National Programmes Manager, to be responsible for efficient and effective administrative support relating to the core programmes of the National Society.

Responsibilities:

  • Manageme correspondence and distribution thereof;
  • Report writing, filing and record keeping;
  • Ensure two-way flow of information between national office, provinces and branches;
  • Maintain good communication between SARCS and external stakeholders;
  • Plan, organise and coordinate standing and ad hoc committee meetings relating to national programmes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience in NPO and/or community development and capacity building advantageous;
  • Excellent organising, coordination and administration skills;
  • Advanced computer skills - MS Office suite;
  • Good report writing skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Attention to detail and professional approach;
  • Ability to work efficiently with competing demands
  • Valid code 08 drivers licence;
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel;
  • Willingness to assist with events coordination and other assignments.
