mothers2mothers: Communications Officer

S/he will provide communications support in internal and external communications for the mothers2mothers programmes, internationally.

S/he will be member of the External Affairs team and will report to the Global Communications Manager.

Responsibilities:

Site visits:

• Coordinate all visits at head office and countries, manage relationships with the Department of Health and prepare site staff;

Press/media liaison:

• Establish and maintain relationships with media, coordinate interviews with site staff;

Visitor liaison:

• Coordinates and attend visits with high level visitors including government, celebrities and high-net worth donors;

Internal communications:

• Create and distribute internal newsletters, assist departments/countries with communication needs, manage head office communications;

Spokesperson for trainings:

• Support the Communications Manager in development of training programme
• Support the implementation pilot and international roll-out

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum of two years work experience in a generalist communications position or at a relevant organisation
• Experience in organising and managing schedules, relationships or events
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Writing and editing skills in English
• Well organised
• Ability to handle pressure in order to meet tight deadlines
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to liaise at all levels
• Team player with ability to foster strong working relations in a multi-cultural environment
• Familiarity with HIV/AIDS, global health and development
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
