Ilitha Labantu: Social Worker / Social Auxiliary Worker (Guguletu Office)
Terms of Employment & Salary: Remuneration is market related can be negotiated, paid on the last day of each month
Ilitha Labantu a National Non Governmental Organization dealing with violence against women and children is looking for a Financial Manager for its head office in Cape Town. This position is a contractual post. The successful applicant shall undergo a 3 months probationary period. During the probationary stage, performance evaluations shall be conducted after three months. Once applicant has passed the probationary period, the applicant shall have contractual status and shall enjoy full benefits as required and mandated by law.
Person Specification:
Language
- Fluent in written and spoken Xhosa and English. The ability to structure and convey concepts in writing is essential.
Education
All applicants should have the following qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a Certificate in Auxiliary Social Work
- Must be registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions
- Must have a minimum of three years work experience
- Must be computer literate
- Must be willing to work for long and extra hours
Skills Required
Experience managing a project or program, preferably in social services, Experience working in programs focused on domestic violence and abuse, women's development, or related field preferred.
- Experience assessing program needs, Experience with program reporting
- Be able to work with Children
- Ability to maintain reporting systems and monitor program goals
- Excellent follow-up skills and analytical thinking
- High initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision, Ability to prioritize and multitask, Ability to complete tasks in a professional timely manner, Good verbal communication and presentation skills, Efficient planning and organization skills
- Creative approach to finding solutions
