IkamvaYouth seeks to appoint an Administrator and Computer Literacy Trainer at the Nyanga branch

 

Job Description: 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the attendance register is accurate and updated
  • Collecting school reports and inputting data into the database
  • Filing and tracking financial transactions
  • Communicating with volunteers and learners through e-mail, phone and bulk SMS
  • Assisting with general administration and providing assistance to the Branch Director


During the afternoons, computer literacy classes will be provided for learners in grades 9-12. Lesson plans are provided in the Operation Fikelela curriculum. (To find out more, please see:http://ikamvayouth.org/programmes/operation-fikelela/about).


Requirements:

  • Post-school diploma or degree is optimal, however a matric certificate is sufficient qualification for the right person
  • Passion and drive to help develop the community and help improve our education system
  • Excellent knowledge about and a keen interest in computers, and are willing to share this knowledge with youth
  • Someone who can take initiative and is keen to contribute meaningfully to the organisation as a whole
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent rapport with learners
  • Needs to be empathetic, caring while also able to be directive when necessary
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners
  • Well spoken with excellent spoken and written English
  • Needs to speak Xhosa
  • Resident of Nyanga
