Fundraising and Marketing Manager
The South African Red Cross Society (SARCS) is part of the largest independent humanitarian organisation in the world - the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement - who every year helps millions of people whose lives have been devastated by crisis.
SARCS is about to embark on a new Fundraising and Communications strategy to significantly increase the income raised for its vital work with vulnerable people across South Africa over the next five years. It is looking for a dedicated, experienced and sector-leading marketing professional to join and lead their Fundraising and Communications team at this exciting time.
The Fundraising and Marketing Manager is a leader who will bring their business acumen, commitment and passion to enhancing the lives of people in crisis; who can work towards the bigger picture whilst motivating colleagues across the organization to achieve targets and look for new opportunities to grow the income, awareness and support that the South African Red Cross achieves at every opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a comprehensive Fundraising and Communications strategy and plan to maximize income and achieve a multi million rand budget from a diverse range of income streams;
- Manage a number of key partnerships and relationships at all levels, including those with the board, branches, suppliers and donors;
- Play a key role in the organisation's decision-making and senior management committee;
- Manage and implement a busy and complex portfolio of Fundraising and Communications activities in a demanding and fast paced environment.
Experience Required:
- Fundraising/Marketing (significant and proven experience essential);
- Team development, management and leadership;
- Financial and budget planning, management and evaluation;
- Reporting, performance management and development of Key Performance Indicators;
- Negotiation with internal stakeholders, suppliers and donors.
Applicants must have a Code 8 Drivers licence, own transport and be prepared to travel.
