Foundation for Professional Development (FPD), a NGO whose vision is to build a better society through education and development, seeks to recruit a Coordinator to be based at The Willows, Pretoria.

 

Job Description: 

Location: Foundation for Professional Development - The Willows

Main Purpose of the Job:

  • To coordinate information sharing and act as a liaison point
  • Map and analyse all available resources on funding in the HIV and AIDS sector in South Africa
  • Liaise with owners of existing resources to discuss using the data from their resources in the Aid Link platform to include NGO's, Government organisations and aggregators of information
  • Arrange data migration from existion databases to the Aid Link platform and/ or liaise with partner organisation who can do this
  • Build links with potential partners and advocacy organisations who could use the enhanced information produced by the Aid Link pilot and encourage them to do so
  • Build links with CBO's and organise and run workshops on using Aid Link and follow up activities to encourage other and support CBO's and others to provide information on the monitoring and evaluation of the pilot project which will be undertaken by aidinfo and AIDSportal
  • Organise review meeting(s) to share lessons with all stakeholders


Education/ Qualification/ Knowledge:

  • Essential- Undergraduate degree in a related subject, Desirable- Masters degree or similar alternative qualification in a related subject

Minimum Working Experience Required:

  • Essential- Substantial experience of working in the field of HIV/AIDS and international development
  • Desirable- Experience in the use of information and knowledge management techniques and approaches and database driven websites is highly desirable

Job Competencies/ Abilities/ Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in supporting, and confidence in communication with stakeholders across different sectors at the local, national, regional and international level
  • An understanding of development advocacy and the key issues of aid transparency
  • Proven contacts with CBOs, HIV and AIDS networks, and government organisations
  • Experience of providing training and/ or support to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven interest in the potential of collaborative web knowledge management initiatives
  • Proven project management skills
  • Good written and spoken English are essential, Additional language skills would be an advantage
  • Strong IT skills with proven advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office or Open Office, Experience of data migration
  • Experience of using web-based knowledge management/ content management software is highly desirable
