Development Internship in Individual Giving
The Women's Funding Network is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic person who is detail-oriented and interested in women and girls issues revolving around social justice. This internship is an opportunity to experience and learn the fundraising process from the ground up in an international funding network.
The Women's Funding Network is a world-wide membership of over 130 women's and girls' funds. Our members support the solutions of women and girls through local, national and international grants. Women's Funding Network advances this movement by supporting these funds through innovative programs and capacity-building expertise. Together, we are creating a safer and more secure world by investing in women and girls.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Research and administrative support for the Development Department
* Composition of donor bios
* Maintaining and helping to design the organization's fund raising files and spreadsheets, tracking individual gifts, gifts received, correspondence with donors, etc.
* Database entry and maintenance
* Assist in event planning activities.
Requirements:
* Strong writing, research, and computer skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, previous experience with Raiser's Edge preferred, but not required
* Discrete handling of confidential information
* Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
* Detail oriented
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Must be comfortable working in a busy office environment and display excellent interpersonal skills.
Applicants must be receiving credit for internship hours from an accredited college or university and able to work 10-20 hours per week for a period no shorter than three months. The Intern will report to the Development Manager. This is an unpaid position.
