The Cape Mental Health Society seeks to appoint a Public Education and Communications Officer on a one-year contract.

 

Job Description: 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement three Public Awareness Campaigns annually
  • Plan and implement Public Education activities
  • Manage and develop resource material
  • Manage the budget for the Public Education and Communication programme of the organisation


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Communication, Social Science and Media or Education or a PR Diploma (NQF 6)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in public education and PR
  • Strong writing and presentation skills are essential
  • Valid Code 8 manual driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in power point
  • Web update and maintenance
  • Proficient in English and Afrikaans
  • Willing to travel to the rural areas of the Western Cape when required
  • Working knowledge or a keen interest in mental health and advocacy will be an advantage
