Gender Machinery To Discuss Govt Ministry for Women

The National Gender Machinery (NGM) meeting is scheduled to take place on 2 February 2009.  One of the items included on the agenda is the establishment of a Government Ministry for Women and the discussion will be lead by the minister in presidency Dr Manto Shabalala Msimang.

Congress Sends Equal Pay Bill to Obama

The bill is a response to a 2007 Supreme Court ruling that said a person must file a discrimination claim within 180 days of an employer's decision to pay a worker less based on gender, even if the worker is unaware of the discrimination.
