Women'sNet facilitates the production of quality content by women, for women and about women and gender. We help facilitate content in multimedia formats including audio, text and picture based content. Women'sNet's information products are used by a variety of women's and feminist organisations as well as organisations working in the development sector more broadly. Our content production is linked to our strategic objective to: "Deepening democracy , by amplifying the voices of marginalised communities and human rights networks' and creating/providing online and offline platforms and tools for quality content production and (social) networking". We work in partnership with women's organisations - highlighting issues of concern to women and increasing capacities to develop content at the same time.
Highlights include:- Audio Content:In 1999/2000 Women'sNet launched a project to develop audio/radio content with women's organisations. This project grew into the (s)he-bytes project which undertook to train producers at community radio stations, and community based organisations to develop and broadcast quality content on gender. The (s)he-bytes project facilitated the development of 3 CD box-sets of audio content for community radio. In addition, Women'sNet trained girls to develop a range of audio content for community radio. The girls tackled issues of concern to them, and produced radio spots addressing these issues. This project was supported by UNICEF. contact us for more information.
