Violence Against Women, Children, Men and Youth

Inter-Denominational Women's Prayer league will be hosting the event on Violence against women, children, men and youth on the 4th of December at Chiawelo Lutheran Church.

The event will take place at 11h00am, after registration which will be at 1h3am.

This plan is the follow up to the May 2006 365 Day of Action to end Gender Violence Conference that adopted the declaration in which a broad section of South Africans commited to joint campaign for eradicating this gross human violation. During declaration we envisage that each year the Sixth Day campaign on Gender Violence would become a platform both to heighten aweraness and take stock of gaps and achievements, to ensure sustained, measured effort to end gender violence.

Since the May conference, a task team comprising representatives of government and the civil society has met to elaborate on the first action plan to strech the sixth Day campaign into a year long campaign addressing all aspects of gender voilence: prevention, response and support.
