The Native Club, in partnership with the HSRC, will host a series of lectures to provide a platform where political parties present their manifestoes for scrutiny. The leaders of major political parties have been invited to present in this series that promises to attract lively debate. The dramatic political developments of 2008 have intensified political contestation and the 2009 elections will potentially attract worldwide attention as the country manages its transition and succession. The Native Club was established three years ago with the primary objective to provide a platform for dialogue on ideas, philosophies, values as well as promotion of research and public discourse that reflects the African experience in South Africa and beyond.
