Designing and Managing HIV and AIDS Programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa
According to the organisers, the Regional Capacity Building Partners (RECABIP), while prevention of HIV infection remains the most important approach to the control of the HIV and AIDS epidemic, care and support for the infected and affected is becoming crucial, as is the need for designing longer-term integrated HIV and AIDS programmes. This course is designed to equip participants with practical strategic management skills for developing effective interventions to address HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment, care, and support issues.

- Organisational policy reviews and development
- Strategic planning and operational planning;
- Programme design and development
- Basic financial management systems
- Facilitation, documentation, sharing, and learning
- People management, team building and group dynamics
- Managing HIV and AIDS as workplace issues
- Building strategic alliances in HIV and AIDS
- Communication and counseling skills
The course is designed for potential and current programme managers in the field of HIV and AIDS in various sectors including the government, NGOs, and private sectors who would like to strengthen their skills in designing HIV and AIDS programmes.
The course fee is US$1 500, which covers tuition, certification, lunches, teas, and snacks but excludes accommodation, dinner, travel, and per diems which participants are required to pay for separately.
