Africa Craft Trust: Training of Trainers Programme 2011

The Africa Craft Trust is conducting its annual Training of Trainers (TOT) Programme, a three-day course aimed at teaching the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to train others, from 28-30 November 2011 in Newtown, Johannesburg.

The course focuses on the use and practice of adult learning theory methods. This highly participatory course models the skills and delivery required to assure a solid transfer of knowledge to a varied group of participants. An optional fourth day can be added to teach participants how to develop a lesson plan.

The course will also provide a forum for training and development of craft leaders and anyone interested in incorporating adult learning methodologies to deepen their understanding of:

  • How to manage a learning environment
  • Workshop set up and preparation
  • Facilitation skills principles
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Basics of adult learning
  • Handling of different personality types in a learning environment
  • How to prepare an effective presentation

The course is aimed at government, NGO, corporate leaders, individuals responsible for the training needs of their organisations, managers looking to learn how to motivate their groups and anyone interested in incorporating adult learning methodologies into their work.

Cost:

  • R6 900 single
  • R6 400 each for five of participants
  • R5 900 each for more than participants
  • Full rate: R7 500 (deposit R3 000 by 16 November 2011 with a balance of R4 500 due 21 November 2011).
