The Durban Review Conference, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, 20-24 April 2009, will evaluate progress towards the goals set by the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa, in 2001.
The members of Africa-Europe Group for Interdisciplinary Studies (AEGIS) and the Institute of African Studies at the University of Leipzig are hosting the 3rd European Conference on African Studies from 4-7 June 2009 in Germany.
The conference is open to all disciplines and methodological approaches representing the social sciences and humanities. The AEGIS Steering Committee encourages scholars and students interested in African Studies to participate in this conference.
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) will be hosting its first conference, SVRI Forum 2009: Coordinated evidence-based responses to end sexual violence, to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa from 6 - 9 July 2009. The conference is aimed at promoting research on sexual violence, highlighting innovation and encouraging sharing and networking in the area of sexual violence.
