Computer Training at SAWID

in

Keba, Lebo and I are facilitating computer training at the South African Women In Dialogue forum (SAWID).  The forum is held at the Birch Wood Hotel in Boksburg.

We have just completed the first session.  It was quite hectic but interesting too.  Eighteen women just opened email addresses. Some are as old as 54 and some are in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

It is always heart breaking to see the participant’s reaction after they open email addresses or learn a new skill on the computer.  Some older women in the group said that they have bought computers for their children but never really thought it was necessary for them get the skills.  However, after today, they feel they should start using the computer more often.

They have just gone out for lunch now and they can’t wait for the second session which will be on blogging.
