Re a Blogga / Blog-a-thon!

sum thngs r taken 4 granted

Today i was at a debute, sort of conference around joburg and some of the representetives of some political parties were there and it was amazing on how some of the representitives were addressing some of the issues, the UDM representitve was shaking and you can ask yourself how can a party be represented by someone who can't talk in front of many people and ignoring issues like the one of a girl who was wearing a mini -skirt and was raped because of wearing it and all the leaders just read about it and don't give a damn on what happened next. Why should parties attend to a matter if it happend

Radio station Thethafm

Last week satuarday we went to Thetha radio station wich is in Orange Farm to talk about Children's Rights. I saw my favourate radio dj and other djs that i always hear about. What I heard and noticed from the children who called on the show is that we don't know our rights and we don't undearstant them. We use our rights in a bad way, we don't use them in a good way. when we use the word rights we fogert to use the word responsibly. what did i do ? I spoke on the show and some children phoned to talk about rights and I was dissaponited that very few children called the show.

Small house, big deal!

Small house, big deal! By Fungai Machirori The name might not quite explain it. After all, most things with the word ‘small’ in front of them aren’t often big issues. But when anyone, particularly women, hear the words, “small house”, they are often filled with some sort of negative emotion. Some people laugh and make light of the matter as if it ought to be acknowledged as a normal part of every man’s life. Men have a need for sexual diversity, so the thinking goes. But I question what kind of a society we would like to build out of such a culture.

Happy to be here

This is my first post on Women's Net. I've been signed up for a few months now and have been slowly working my way through the site. I think it is fantastic and I am so glad to have found a feminist community based out of South Africa.

Your Education!

you have a right to have education because education is so impontant in life. you cannot be proud of yourself if you do not go to school. Stop playing with your furture because one day you will regert your life 'cause now you are messing up with your furture, stop doing that! Other children cannot go to school because thier parent dont want them to. They think it is a waste of time, but you have a chance to go to school. And you smoke at school??!! Just go to school and have education! You will fail! Stop smoking! .education is your furture.

Real Person

I am a REAL person and have a right to be treated properly. My granny is not treating me well at home but I have Rights! Sshe shouts at us like dogs! She does not accept our mistakes. I have a right to be taken seriously and also make mistakes. When we talk about school work, my sister and I, she just looks at us like dogs. But, again I have a right to be protected from neglect! She likes calling us names like "bitch" and that hurts me because she says that we are not flesh and blood, thats why she treat us like this...
