I made it..!

I have an account with Women'sNet, I have been trying a few times to create one but I either go to an error page or I never get through at all. This is such a beautiful website, forever updated and colourful. Makes one search and browse more. I love your concept, I am into ICT, I'm a student and an human rights activist. This is a space for me, I take it as mine to have and to hold. I write, I ask the most unasked questions, my pastor thinks I'm rebelious...I love it, a powerful young women beyond measure. My concern though really, is violence against women and girls in this country. I have always heard of the brutality against those of our kind but never really hear what happens with the cases. It makes me sick. Who's democracy is this really? Do we really need to vote again this year? Why do we vote? To change the name, face and agenda of the president? or do we need fight so that our government can finally realise just how serious violence against us is. I am allergic to men, I hate them: innocent or not. They made hate them. I saw my grand mother cry everyday because HE didn't ceme back home lst night and she got the beating for asking, I saw my mother become a prey for men because she couldn't afford my brother and I since HE was out of reach, I saw my aunt hanging on because HE is the man and she had and was none without HIM. HE never compromised, I saw HIM having a good life for 20years of my life. He raped me because I had a say even when I was not suppose to...So he think. I never went to court, my case is dead and not because I wanted to but because our goverment is MEN. You see, HE did it and I hate it.

To vote or not to vote?

So, Miss Universe (Im glad you did eventually get to register!) will you be voting this year?

Ive heard a lot of people expressing their sadness or frustration with current politics - so much so that they are thinking of not voting!

I'm still deciding - what's your opinion?

To start a campaign on Spoilt Votes 2009

To be honest Sally Jean, I haven't registered yet, didn;t like the idea of putting my million dollar cross on any one's name or party for that matter. I will though on the 7 or 8, for my kids and grand kids to come :) I will be in the same que with those who are enjoying this democracy, I will cast my spoilt vote beceuse that's wahat it is for me, a letter to whom it may concern if it is entirely important, to who I still ask. I can't vote for ANC or COPE because, they are so much in a struggle for power not to change people's lifes. I can't vote for any other party especially ACDP (a very homophobic party yet christian), for they are forever silent and only regain their speech during these times. And then the ANCYL's Malema, that guys says he is leading SA's youth but I never hear him address our issues as young people of the country. Eradicating crime in our schools by rebuilding libraries, parks, swiming pools and sport complexes. In my opinion Sally Jean, South Africa is ANC, COPE and all those that have regained their speech now, its no longer our country. Our president, the one that we choose to leadthe country was dismissed without our say in the matter. If our voices weren't important then, why should they be now? I apologies if this space doesn't promote this kind of openess, it is your question Sally that openned that hell of a hole in me. I do not see myself being lead by a polygamist, rapist and a Fraudster. He's worth more than 100-Million of our people's taxes. He just married a girl as young as I am, how on earth will I have respect for this man? Most of my peers have to be tested for Mr right who was never tested if he is a virgin or not, how many womena or some of their mother has he slept with. My soon to be presidents feels that it is the way of culture. My vote is a real disaster for my kids if it has a cross next to any party, I feel. But spoilt, it will speak out for those who have lost hope in this country. What is your opinion now that I have shared mine? How long should I wait for your response? I have another 4 hours in the internet cafe. "Maturity doesn't mean age; it means sensitivity, manners and how you react."

spoiling your vote

I think spoiling your vote is better than not voting at all. it was something that those of us that who were allowed to vote in the racist regime did to make our protest heard.

I still dont know who im going to vote for tomorrow, but ill be at the voting station... maybe ill see you there!

Justice in our SA

Hi Miss Universe, its good to know that you are loving our website. I see yo have been writing and responding to yourself.

I was going through past paper of rapeand murder cases, I won't lie to you, I was heart broken. Either the are not on trial or post-phoned. These cases stretch to as far as two to three years.

I know girl who was raped because of her sexual orientation, she never went to court neither does she know whether she still have a case or not. She gave up on her case. The cop who was responsible for her case could not be reached for sometime and she was later told that her case number didn't exist.

She gave up, she is angry and hurt. I am angry too, I don't like my country that much.

And I'm so glad you made it.

And I'm so glad you made it. You are obviously a very beautiful woman, and one with lots of strength. One of the days, we will have our Women Government. It begins with you and I. I'm hopeful and grateful.

Your opinion on this years elections

Hi Sage, I just responded to Sally Jean's blog. What is your take on this year's elections? I want to believe that you have entered into a lot of thnking around the matter. "Maturity doesn't mean age; it means sensitivity, manners and how you react."

Hi Sage

Great! you saw my blog. Thanks for responding. Thanks for the compliment, I am a bit cute. I have big dreams but not the confidence of being on stage. I will surely own a modeling agency one day, so I get to choose the beauty. I love beauty, with brains though, which I think every women has. I love the idea, our Women Government. Yes it begins with the one with power. You seem to be blogging a lot on this website, how often do you blog? What was your initial experience of blogging? Do you agree that it is free-writing? How does one encourage others to blog? How long have you had your Women'sNet account? So when are we starting our exchanging of knowledge and information? Like I said, I'm still a student and have a passion for the rights of human beings specifically women. Do I ask to many questions?

I'm in love with this website

Conversation with Self, how fascinating can life be? Very colourful... I'm going to invite my friends so that we can exchange ideas and that I stop talking and writing to myself. How can one use this website like other spaces: MXit, Facebook and stuff?

Hi Miss Universe

I feel you, I hear you, I share the same with you to an extend. I also have my own uncertainity in terms of voting this year and the justice system. I hate how rape cases are being dealt with, it breaks to see how fast and far other cases take and go. We need to raise serious awareness before things turn sour. I know a lot of Men haters, it is mostly because of the same reasons you have raised. I feel the democracy is for specific people and we are just adding a number of the population in the country but not really enjoying the benefits of this democracy. We do in some cases trust me, but I still feel it is like that because we submit to certain protocols. But through collective power we can do a lot of change, not for us only but for the generation that follows. We need to think, question and act positively. Yes, we can. We have come far.
