i learned a lot today

It was nice to be with Karen, Masasa & Lerato they know how to teach us. They were teaching us how to dance. We played different games. Some of them i used to play at home and some were my first time. My favourirte game was called chief because you had to guesse who was making others change group behaviour. We leaned about our cultures, we even did the Zulu dance. In one game, I said I like an orange because it brings me healing, and I drew it as my favourite fruit. They gave us candles to share each other's light as we spoke about our day and what we have learned.

lovely day

Hi I had a good day today. I have enjoyyed having sesion with our visitors from WITS University. When they came in i was like 'o God! will they treat us good?' but when i saw them playing with us i thought they were so sweet. i don't know about the others but i think they also enjoyed having karen, masasa and lerato. i wish we will meet again! I liked the cUlture game because i learned more about how we wear different clothes. like dresses [mosese] and turbans (tuku) are different in each culture. I also learned about being a queen BEING A BEAUTY QUEEN MEANS

voting

SUPRISED THAT MANY YOUNG PEOPLE VOTED! Wow! I felt great after casting my first ever vote as a young South African! The thing that suprised me the most was that a whole lot of young people in my township actually voted! When my friends 7 I went to the voting station we were like "wow! you are here to vote as well?!" to some of our peers. It seem like most young people in my community kept it a secret that they registered to vote as most of us were suprised to see each other at the voting station. I wonder why? because there was nothing to be ashamed of!

Poverty not an Excuse to Abuse

Every morning I go past this specific high profile suburb. At this specific traffic lights, are a blind middle aged man with his teenage daughter, I assume, holding his hands, and they are begging for money. I never give a cent to those who beg, but every morning I'm tempted to roll the window down and just ask this young woman "Why the hell aren't you at school?". Each time want to open that window, a little voice responds to me,"She has no choice".

LIVING IN SILENCE

Silence it's a pollution through the mindset of many women, many of them believe that being silent would solve the challenges that they face behind the walls of their homes.Trying to protect their image and also thinking what would the neighbours say about their situation of being abused.

POLITICIANS AND SOCIETY AGAINST VIOLENCE of WOMEN AND GIRLS

I WAS ONE OF THE FEW TEENAGERS WHO WENT TO IKHAYALETHEMBA,TO WITNESS THE GATHERING OF DIFFERENT POLITICAL PARTIES.IT WAS REALLY AMAZING TO BE AT THE SAME ROOM AS SUCH ICONS,THERE WERE ACTUALLY ALL THE CAMPAINING PARTIES THAT WANT TO CHANGE THE LIVES OF THE SOUTH AFRICANS FOR THE BETTER. TO BE QUITE FRANK SOME OF THEM WERE NOT REALLY READY FOR THE PUBLIC ANOUNCEMENTS, LIKE THE REPRESANTATIVE FOR COPE, THAT WOMAN! SHE HAS A NERVE OF SAY THAT SHE DIS NOT HAVE A RESPONSE TO THE QUESTION ABOUT WHAT HER PARTY WILL COMMIT TO REGARDING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.

Solutions by Politians. What about me?

Truely speaking, I enjoyed myself seing all the political members of the party where they shared their own points of views. (ACDP) ,I liked the part that she menssioned about prostitutes being removed from the streets, and providing jobs for them in order to keep them safe. The part that children who are being abused at home: the solution was that social workers could place them in houses of safety ,that's what i wanted to know because i'm also a victim of abuse at home.
