About Citizen Journalism Project

Today Women'sNet is working with partner organisations in South Africa to bring together an initial group of activists and organisations to build their capacity to develop media products. The capacity building takes the form of a hands-on technical skills training on using the technology tools to produce media products as well as raising awareness about the concepts and use of citizen media as part of development practice. This blog is a space for this capacity building and sharing idea, opinions and news.

The voice through self-expression!

There are many topics that reaches the hearts of individuals around the globe, yet people tend to be hesitant to voice their opinions. Then there are those who are burning with the desire for a story to tell. The words that are unspoken fall upon a page, spelling out the true and unseen and unheard issues of the people's hearts...

The difference between gender issues in Denmark and South Africa

There are big differences in how we refer to gender issues in Denmark and South Africa. In Denmark those issues are mostly concerned about, that women receive a lower salary and have harder working conditions. Furthermore it is characteristic that boys/men feel, that they live and grow up in a women-dominated world. This is because e.g. most nurses and kindergartenteachers are women, but also because my experience is, that many women tend to dominate in their relationsships with men. It seems as though the women want the genders to be equal, not only at work but also at home.

Change is good

Activism speaks of working toward positive change. This change we consider to be important. This dawning of this change we all strive to be part of. We NEED to be a part of it. We were all created with a percentage of imperfection. And that is what makes us Human. We must acknowledge that some of our imperfections can and must be fixed. We are living in a world that is ever changing, a world that is accepting of all, a world that is growing to look past differences and see only people.

Ms

I believe we should all live without fear and we should all stand against woman abuse and children of this world.
