Courage in Journalism Award Winners Announced
The
IWMF announced on May 3, World Press Freedom
Day, that Jineth Bedoya Lima of Colombia,
Carmen Gurruchaga of Spain and Amal Abbas
of Sudan have been awarded 2001 Courage in
Journalism Awards. The awards, which honor
women journalists who pursue their profession
in the face of extraordinary threat, will
be presented in Washington, DC, New York and
Los Angeles in October.
